This Northern company has been around for years, and is headed by some of the biggest names in the games industry. They are currently one of the most successful independent developers in Europe, selling more PS2 software units than most other developers. They are now in a really exciting period of growth and are looking for serious talent to push the boundaries of next gen technology. This role involes planning, organising and resourcing the project and managing a team of vary sizes ( <10-50+ ) individuals.
The Development Manager will be the projects Director Group main point of contact for all the production-related queries and is responsible for keeping the Game Director informed of all areas of the product.
Functional Duties:
- Working with the projects Director Group and the Studio Development Director to deliver a high quality product on time and on budget.
-Undertaking, planning, organising and resourcing the product.
Project Tracking:
-It is the Development Managers responsibilty for the effective day to day running of the team and maintaining a team mentality of high performance.
-Practise team development through effective open communication, reinforcing the professional growth of the team members, and establishing clearly defined goals and program objectves.
Key Strenghts required:
-Exceptional leadership in project management, evangeliser and enforcer of the Studio Group Best Practise.
-A proven motivator and team leader, with the ability to drive teams forward while maintaining strong morale, focus and efficiency.
You must have held the responsibility in the delivery of AAA titles over long ( 18 months+ ) and short production cycles.
Travel would be involved to other UK sites (i.e. Leamington/London)
Occasional travel abroad for short periods would also be part of the role.
