German Localisation Tester

Our German based client is looking for a talented individual who shares their strong commitment towards excellence and quality in games.
There is an excellent opportunity for a native speaking German localisation games tester to work on an initial 12 month contract. Position summary as follows: The German Localisation Tester ensures the overall linguistic quality of a variety of games across all platforms and genres. You will be responsible for the correctness of the integrated language and all third party terminologies. Position Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities: - Report bugs by using a bug tracking system and suggest solutions - Go through all third party terminologies and ensure that they are correct in-game - Verify in-game corrections within regression testing - Execute test scripts - Proofreading of in-game text before integration - Proofreading of manuals, inlays and other packaging material - Identify time critical issues within the localization testing deadlines - Integrate feedback and test reports/results into the testing process - Report to the Localization Test Coordinator Secondary Responsibilities: - Translate smaller batches of text from English into German - Identify improvements in the testing process - Determine appropriate test strategies - Verify specified product goals - Provide input to the test schedule Position Qualifications/Requirements - Native language - Excellent command of English (written and verbal) - Wide range or scope of experience or interest in gaming on a variety of platforms - Self-motivated with superb work ethic and a desire to make world class games - Ability to take direction and effective listening skills - Ability to troubleshoot and isolate faults, sometimes within severe time constraints - Sharp attention to detail, highly analytical - Aptitude to learn quickly and effectively - Willingness and ability to remain focused in a driven, high pressure, team-oriented environment - Flexibility to work under tight deadlines Technical Requirements - Advanced software/hardware knowledge - Prior testing experience - Experience in following testing processes and methodologies - Understanding of Localization and QA measurement/metric techniques and all related issues Soft-Skill Requirements - Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills - Excellent organizational skills - Familiarity with all phases of the software localization cycle Bonus - 1+ years working experience in the games industry - Understanding of key technical issues involved with console and PC game development - Experience working to tight deadlines The salary for this role is around 1800 Euros per month.
